AGRICULTURE / DIGITAL FARM RECORD

Every farm has a structured record. Every record follows the farm.

The farm profile is the foundational artefact: drawn boundary on Google Maps, parcels, irrigation, sheds, equipment, livestock, labour. Every other agri workflow (visits, diagnostics, funding readiness, marketplace presence) sits on top of the farm profile.

One of thirteen workflows in the Agriculture layer. All connected to the same growth record.

ABOUT THIS WORKFLOW

Why it exists, and how it operates.

The farm profile captures what is on the farm and where it sits. Operator or extension officer draws the farm boundary on Google Maps, then records infrastructure (sheds, irrigation, fencing, processing), equipment register, livestock counts by category, labour and seasonal workforce, water rights and access.

The profile updates over time. New equipment is logged. Livestock counts change with intake, sale, and mortality. Infrastructure investments are captured. The profile evolves into a longitudinal record of the farm as an operation.

For lenders, the farm profile underpins the asset position. For programmes, it is the baseline. For the operator, it is the canonical record of their own business.

  2. 02

    Boundary drawn on Google Maps

Operator or extension officer draws the farm polygon directly on Google Maps. No surveyor required.

  3. 03

    Infrastructure and equipment captured

Sheds, irrigation, processing, machinery. Photo-stamped, dated, valued where applicable.

  4. 04

    Livestock and labour recorded

Headcount per category, calving cycle, seasonal workforce, key roles.

  5. 05

    Verification

Extension officer or programme visit verifies the captured profile. Discrepancies flagged for re-capture.

    Ongoing updates

Profile updates with each cycle, each major investment, each new lease, each livestock intake or sale.

EVIDENCE OUTPUTS

What this workflow produces.

Each item below is a structured artefact written to the operator's growth record. Programme officers, funders, buyers, and the operator themselves can read and act on every one.

  • Farm profile document (structured)
  • Drawn boundary on Google Maps
  • Infrastructure and asset register
  • Livestock and labour record
  • Land-use classification
  • Verification trail per update
WHO BENEFITS

Different audiences. Same workflow output.

AudienceValue delivered
FarmersA canonical record of their own farm, exportable any time, owned by them.
LendersAsset position and farm scale visible at decision time, not reconstructed from claims.
ProgrammesCohort-level visibility into farm sizes, infrastructure quality, and commodity mix.
InsurersStructured baseline for policy underwriting and claim verification.
